The Darkling

This is a drawing of the comic book character The Darkling I drew for my friends at Futurius Comics. She's a vampire girl who sometimes moonlights as a superhero. You can read a free issue of the six issue miniseries online at the Futurius web-site. Al Williamson's art was a huge inspiration for me. He was also an inspiration to me in person. My dad and I went to Pennsylvania in 2001 to meet Al at his home. He was warm, generous and funny and he could not have been nicer. We had a great time. I don't know if I was able to explain to him how much his work meant to me or how much I admired him. Thanks Al.
