Al Williamson's art was a huge inspiration for me. He was also an inspiration to me in person. My dad and I went to Pennsylvania in 2001 to meet Al at his home. He was warm, generous and funny and he could not have been nicer. We had a great time. I don't know if I was able to explain to him how much his work meant to me or how much I admired him. Thanks Al.

Hulk Smash

Here is a portrait in gouache of the Hulk from Marvel Comics. Its based in part on Lou Ferrigno the actor and body builder who played the character on the 1970s TV show and partly on the comic book version.

Wolverine

X-men Origins: Wolverine comes out today. Here is my take on Marvel Comics fierce mutant. I think it could have come out better. Maybe I'll have to do another drawing of Logan in the future.
